Short Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) and Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs)

Call for Virtual Mobility Grants

The COST Programme implemented a pilot action that will run until October 2021, mainly due to the COVID19 pandemic and its consequent restrictive measures, aiming to build capacity and spread the uptake of virtual collaboration across different research communities. It includes two new types of grants:

  • A Virtual Networking Support (VNS) Grant, for appointing an individual as Virtual Networking Support Manager, to promote virtual collaboration, such as developing a virtual networking strategy for the Action, taking overall responsibility for Virtual Mobility Grants (see below), and supporting the MC in the discussions and planning of virtual events and collaboration activities.

  • Virtual Mobility (VM) Grants aim at strengthening the existing networks by allowing scientists to foster collaboration in a virtual setting, exchange knowledge, learn new techniques, disseminate Action results, etc. The maximum amount per VM Grant is EUR 1.500, with a maximum of 6 VM Grants per Action per Grant Period.

As a result of a previous call, the VNS Manager for the 1st Grant Period will be Carina Dantas | and she will be the main contact person for any aspect related to this call.

Short-term scientific missions (STSMs)

STSMs are exchange visits between researchers involved in a Cost Action. NET4Age partners are allowed to visit organisations, institutions or companies in another COST country.

These scientific missions may last up to six months in another COST Member/Cooperating Member or Near-Neighbour Country joining the Action. Their aim is to foster collaboration in research infrastructures and share new technologies that may not be available in a participant’s home organisation, institution or company.

NET4Age-Friendly enables researchers to apply for an STSM during the whole lifecycle of the Action.

Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs)

ITC CONFERENCE GRANTS  are aimed at supporting early career investigators (ECI) and PhD students from Participating  Inclusiveness Target Countries  (ITC )  to attend  international science and technology related conferences,  event or activity on the topic of the  NET4Age-Friendly  Action that are not organized by the COST Action.

Researchers are invited  to apply for an ITC conference grant,  provided that their work has been accepted for presentation at a conference aligned with  NET4Age-Friendly related  topics  and areas of interest.
